In Japan you can get a built in GPS with a small screen in the center of the dash. Therefore, I would assume there's room to mount a similar sized LCD screen in the same space for an A/V system.

I wanted to install a roll-away in the stock stereo slot but there was not enough clearance. I refuse to destroy the clean elegance of the dash so I won't cut in a screen. I have seen a roll-away unit cut into the dash... didn't look any better then a stand alone screen. Take the money and buy some wheels and suspension bits, its money better spent.

My idea is to remove the passenger airbag and put in a custom track that has the TV coming up from underneath the cover. I too did not want to break the clean lines of the dash by cutting into it. I am trying to see if there will be enough space down there to put a PS2 for the DVD and have the CD tray come out thorugh a small hole cut underneath. If my idea works, it will looks stock until you flip the switch. Sweet. *lol* I have big dreams, and I KNOW someone will beat me to them, but I will find ways to make my car unique. Hope this idea helps.
