Default Two convertibles caught in the rain

I was heading home after work yesterday with the top down and driving behind a Sky. As we approach a stop light it starts pouring rain. I though I could get the top up at the light but it turned green as I approached. I turned into the first parking lot available. I noticed the woman in the Sky with the top down continued on. I got the top up but was still a little drenched. I get to the next light and what do I see? The same Sky, still with the top down. The blonde driving is drenched and rain is just hammering down.

Forgive me, but I know nothing about the Sky. I read some posts on here saying that the top on that is manual and it's a pain to open/close?

If so, that must be teh suck.

Some people never put the top up for any reason. And if you can keep it above 45ish the rain goes right over the top. Of course traffic lights make it impossible to stay above 45mph

Wimp. You just need to be bold and decisive.

The Sky top from what I hear is a bear to get up and down. Probably one of the main reasons I'll never really consider purchasing one.

I 've read that, between the Sky and the Solstice, the Sky is a little better quality . . . but I think the look of the Solstice is funky-er and really more to the point of having a roadster.

********** I wish people here would name their LOCATION in their avatar info . . . rain? rain where? **************

You have to get out of the car to operate the top in the Sky.
1. Open the trunk. release the top.
2. fold the top in the trunk.
3. close the trunk.

You have to get out of the the car to raise and lower the top on the Sky/Solstice. Even with the manual top, the real reason I wouldn't buy a Sky is the fact that there is no trunk.

I hate rain, and living in FL we get it every afternoon...

I can't remember what I read, but how long does it take the S to close it's top?
