Dreadful and depressing. Airgate, W1ngman, and I personally witnessed an accident on Saturday night in New Bern. It involved two domestic sedans, and nobody was hurt, thankfully, but it reminded me that no mater how carefully and defensively you drive, a fool can end your day and even your life.

Unfortunately the person in this situation needed no help. I feel particularly sorry for the innocent passenger. You can see from the pictures that the road is clearly not designed for excessive speed.

It just makes me dread more that the kids will be of driving age soon.

My condolence to the family of the accident victims. Members, Please be careful on the road as this is something none of should have to go through. ALWAYS WEAR YOUR SEATBELT. Once again be careful and act responsible on the road.

Another sad and shortened life. Im only 24 and could not fathom the idea of not being around tomorrow. Very very sad.

One thing i dont understand though, is the VW hitting the S after the first collision. Maybe both were driving at excessive speeds. Im sure the story was written from the VW's perspective. Regardless, my prayers and thoughts go out to the friends and families.

Thats really sad.

On a good note, anybody notice how well aligned the drivers door still looks in the picture?

The front of the car looks absolutely mangled, I wonder how fast they were going. The pictures aren't gory, I wonder what injuries caused their deaths...

Is it true that the x-brace prevents the motor from going under in accidents like this?
