Which type of S2000 driver are you?
There are 5 types of S2000 drivers that Ive been able to classify so far. They arent hard to spot at all when you see them coming down the street. The one thing they all have in common they all love their S2000 more than a woman loves a fully naked Brad Pitt and are more than likely kill you if you do any type of harm to their car whether it be intentional or unintentional. Now lets get down to what those five types of S2000 drivers are. #1 THE STREET SWEEPER. The one who slams and cambers the living daylights out of their S2000 and have stickers(quite possibly sponsor stickers) everywhere for the Ultimate show car screaming stance nation( every now and then they get put in magazines for their looks) Usually you catch these drivers cruising with a bunch of their car buddies showboating or ego boosting. A speed bump for these drivers usually means suicide. #2 THE STIG. The ones who Track their S2000 every chance they get and they usually have crazy aero kits and wings for actual function not look. They have their suspension and brakes upgraded as well as their tires. They occasionally do canyon runs as well and whatever you do dont in any way try to challenge them or insult their skills otherwise you may end up regretting it. #3 THE DRAG JUNKY. The ones who throw a huge turbo or Crazy Supercharger setup in their S2000 to make it a straight line Monster as all they care about is high horsepower numbers and low quarter mile times. They love roll racing and are looking for the chance to eat up anyone who dares to say "oh its just a Honda". #4 THE PURIST. The one who leaves everything stock and curses out anyone who even mentions the word mod in a sentence as OEM is all they know and also they love to take the back roads in pure bliss. #5 THE TUNER. These are the guys who very lightly mod their S2000 with an exhaust, headers, air intake and maybe a tune or any one of the combinations and or a clutch and gears and call it a day. They go out seeking anyone to rip up if given the chance even though sometimes they know its a losing battle. These seem to be the most common drivers out there. It is said once a tuner is beaten enough he turns into a drag Junkie and comes back for revenge and usually it doesnt end to well for the other cars. Then there's me the one who wants the coolness of the street sweeper but the function of the Stig. Which type of driver are you?
I'm more of a purist with a hint of Stig. I track my S2000 any chance I get, but I also feel like the car on track is perfect the way it is in full OEM trim. This is one car that doesn't need to be modified. Also, since I'm really only doing DEs and open track days and not necessarily competing, I can do without all the functional aero. If I were competing, now that would be a different story. I also love tearing around the back country roads
Tuner but might be part of the Drag Junky group when I (hopefully) get the supercharger in the Spring. But that is just going to be a stage 1 kit with no more than the addition of 100hp and utilized in all aspects of driving.
Nice post
I think I am a PURIST (without the cursing for the word 'mod' though!) heading towards the TUNER as I am changing this week
my OEM cat to a BERK 63.5mm (hurray my first 'mod'
) and I have in the back of mind to add in the future:
-front lip
-tyres (I love too much my OEM wheels so..)
-coilovers
-full Berk Exhaust together with ECU tune

Purist mostly according to your definition. I don't do power mod or any of that stuff, but I do add things here and there to better suit my taste.
Added the modifry cup-holder because I hate leaving my phone/wallet in the stock cup-holder. It impedes with my shifting!
Installed a lock/unlock beep because I hate how Hondas don't have a confirmation beep without the horn going off.
Upgraded radio. Stock one sucks.
Other than that, I have no desire to change the car in the future.

Interesting. One manager at the local Honda Dealer (Folsom) said he sees two kinds of S owners:
The younger set who modifies the car and tends to beat it up often.
Usually older/middle age type who has an unmodded car that is also pristine. That owner usually does maintenance himself on the car.
I tend to be the latter, unmodded unless you call the addition of some soundproofing a mod. I can see why some modify their cars but not for me with this one. Its just perfect the way it is. (I am looking at a better HU though) LOL!

Tuner with a hint of purist I guess if that makes sense lol. Also this should have been a poll.
Edit: I should add that I do want to add some Stig to the mix when I have a bit more time and money to play with.
