A real wheel also has "HONDA" printed the inside/back of one of the spokes. your OEM rim looks like the face is in really good shape so i expect the replacement is too- or at least it better be.

At this point, in your shoes, i would be seeing them in small claims court. Their negligence could have landed you in a shitstorm of trouble. You are effin lucky nothing more developed.

good luck.

Update 2:

Went to pick up my spare key yesterday. While I was there, I also asked for an invoice of the repairs.

He stated that "he had given me a invoice of the inspection and parking light."
I said "yes, but I would like an invoice of the damage repairs."
He responded with "Why?"
I said "for my maintenance and car records."
He refused stating that "He took responsibility for the damages and that I didn't have to pay for it, so he wasn't going to give me an invoice."
I still insisted for an invoice as it is the law.
After 3 or 4 back and fourths, I left the shop laughing knowing that he just broke the law.

Realizing how shady this was and reasons why the owner wouldn't want to give an invoice (part numbers), I looked closer at the wheel. I believe it is the same wheel and I might be able to prove it.

The pictures I took of the initial damage show some scuff marks around the center Honda badge. The wheel they replaced still has these same scuff marks, however the inner drum has been repaired (where the caliber scratched the alloy when the wheel came off). I'm assuming they simply buffed it out and repainted it.

This is insane....

Take those jokers for a ride, in court.

I'm sympathetic for the small businesses that get reamed in lawsuits for stupid, sometimes intentional, crap. For example, ambulance chasers. Someone pulled that crap on my father (small business owner) when one of his employees tapped someone's rear bumper. While it was a completely illegitimate claim he had to settle because it wasn't going away and he would spend tens of thousands of dollars in court anyways. But anyways, this is a different story. They're doing everything wrong. They made a mistake. The tech should be fired. They should have repaired it properly. They should give you any and all paperwork associated with it. That's the best way to protect THEMSELVES and you at the same time. They will be ripped apart in court now, if you choose to take it that far.

This is why I have a recurring subscription to LegalShield. I've used their services a few times already and it has MORE than paid off. I have them (a local lawyer) send a simple letter stating that they had better fix it or they will represent me in claims court. Costs me nothing. They've always replied within 24 hours with what I've rightly deserved. Not only that, but if they DID take it as far as court, it still costs me nothing for up to 1,000 hours of that lawyer's time, per year.

Too many companies are taking advantage of their customers nowadays that it makes me SICK. I have so many examples from this year alone.

So shady. Are we talking about the sidemarker light? You don't even have to take the wheel off to change that.

I don't think any major damgage was done. It just depends if you want to forget the whole thing and move on or pursue legal action.

No we are talking about the light that others have mentioned you can reach from the wheel well. Part of me feels that it is ok but then the what ifs start to set in.

Furthermore, he deserves to have some actions against him whether that is legal or review based.

However, I am so frustrated that I want to almost forget it. Plus, perusing it legally would most likely cost more money than I would get out of it.

They didnt say the turn marker was less safe than not installing the lugs. They obviously did not plan for that. And it has nothing to do with the govt. The shop is just licensed to do inspections through the govt. The govt doesnt run their shop. Its not the federal govt either, it state. Each state has their own inspection laws. We have none where I live

But, this shop sounds like a place to steer clear of for sure!

My forehead hurts from banging my head on the desk for the last 10 minutes while I was reading through this thread.

So this shop is certified to do inspections, and they forgot to put the lug nuts on. They should be revoked of their certification immediately. Based off this alone, I would have never taken my car back to them to have it worked on. I wouldn't even let them put air in my tires.

I would have gotten them to pay for any damages to my car, and taken it to the other guy that you trust.

So sorry you are having this issue with your new car.......

I'd suggest having another shop inspect for any other damage. While I'm not a big fan of stealerships, a list of issues on offical Honda letterhead would be nice to have on hand if you pursue anything.

Have you checked into what type of licensing and certification shops are required to have in your state? Any system for reporting issues such as this to them? Mistakes happen, but as you said, they have an obligation to provide evidence of making it right (which they failed to do).

Good luck, and I hope this doesn't taint your s2000 experience.

Good luck hang in there. Dealing with these state shops that know nothing about s2k's can be tough. Trust me I know I live in southern DE...my best advice would be when you get settled would be to do some searching on the forum for reputable ppl in your area and also get ready for some diy! If u need help with anything let me know
