UK/Euro/AUS S2000s use essentially the same VIN system as the U.S. cars, with the 10th digit indicating the model year: Y=2000, and 1-9 = 2001-2009, respectively. So your car registered in 1999 should have a Y in the tenth digit. Production of non-JDM cars started in June 1999.
