Lightbulb UPDATE AFTER SPEEDING TICKET!

About a month ago I had posted to you guys that I had gotten pulled over in my S on the highway clocked at 110 in a 65. Now before you flame me I know I was wrong and dumb. I know for a fact I was not the first person caught speeding and was not looking for any sympathy. It was a NJ State Trooper younger guy and he wrote me 4 tickets. 1) 110 in a 65 2) Reckless 3) Failure to signal 4) Unsafe lane change. What a day that was. I ended up getting a lawyer cause that is 14 points in just one shot and a mandatory loss of license. The lawyer even prepped me and wanted to know when it would be a good time to lose my license. I tried to push the court date back to come up with the money but lawyer said no. To make a long story short I go to court 1.5 hours late like the lawyer said say a quick hi to him. He wanted me just to bring a letter from a driving school so I did. He takes the letter and goes to talk to the prosecuter for about a half hour and come out and says this. "You are looking at 14 points and loss of license but this is what I can do we are gonna get rid the of Reckless and the other 2 point tickets and just make your 110 a 94 in a 65 which is 4 points. Then you go to driving school and lose two more points which leaves you with 2 points. I still can't believe it. But it just goes to show you its all just political. My lawyer was like best friends with the Judge and the prosecuter so the lawyer didn't even have to do any work. Unreal!!!

So how much did you have to pay the lawyer?

The lawyers fee was $1,100. What are you gonna. Figure without him and getting the tickets the insurance points if I even got to keep insurance would be through the roof, plus the court costs a lot higher for the higher penalty. I do want to say thanks to everyone for pointing out the websites to look into beating the ticket and all the help. Thank you guys!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow that's insane. Good for you. Now slow down while driving the Garden State Parkway.

I don't own a S yet, so I do not want to start sounding like an ass on the board. But you do sound a little too happy to get away with something you should be locked up for. This society's traffic rules are seriously F-ed up. We do not train people enough before unleashing them on the road, the police is funded by tickets that do not make sense a lot of times (80mph is a perfectly safe speed)... and when it really does get dangerous (110 in 65 IS dangerous when other people on the road can't handle drivers going at that speed), the ticket can be neutralized most of the time as long as you can hand out the benjamins.

Seriously, take your 110mph to the track. In particular since the cop did cite you for unsafe lane change and failure to use the turn signal... if you are going in a straight line with no traffic, that's perhaps just a bad case of NFS... but snaking through traffic at that speed without using your turn signal? You should never have gotten away with that.

Hope what you learn is NOT you can get away with it, but rather, you gotta be more responsible.

I'm next to the window, just barely out of the picture. If you look closely you can see my shadow.
