Default UPDATES:Back from the dealer

Hi,

Im excited about tomorrow.

I will go to the dealership to see the S.

here are the basic info.

dealer 1 a honda dealer
2006 Blue 7246 miles.
ask 25 k. honda certified

dealer 2 a nissan dealer
2006 blue 800 miles
ask 25k. missing stock shiftknob.

I ran carfax on both car. perfect records.

If things go well, and price too. I will make the move.

but more info on what to look for always helps... from the past experience, some records might not show up on the carfax reports.

any advice on negociating the price with the dealer? and what are the things I should be aware of? any catches there?

(spell check doesn't work, any gramma, spelling error, please excuse me)
thank you in advance

sounds like to me #2 would be the better deal for the same price with less miles you could always just buy a shift knob

Those prices are really good IMO. You can try to negotiate...but don't be upset or walk out if they don't. Remember that car was $34,000 last year. I would go for it...LBP is one of the nicest colors on this car.

I'm not sure why the second one only has 800 miles and it's that cheap...check it out and make sure it's okay, but I would go with the one with less miles. Doesn't matter about the shift knob...you can find them on here for cheap all the time...or just buy a new one from Honda. In the mean time just buy one of those $10 pep boys knobs...you're spending 25k so I'm sure $10 won't be a huge problem.

Look and check for the same things on any other used car, and a few others . Oil level, tire pressure, wheel condition, windows, rear window, soft top, windshield, check that all lights work, blinkers, a/c and heat. Make sure the doors, hood and trunk line up perfectly. Make sure all bumpers line up perfectly with the car. Check for any dents, scratches or indentations everywhere on the car.

GIVE THAT THING A CAVITY SEARCH!!

dont always rely on carfax...when i was looking at used s2ks i ran a carfax on this one i wanted. it came up clean. i went to look at it and it was in an accident (whole front was repainted and emblems shaved. could tell from popping the hood open since it was also missing VIN tags from the front bumper and fenders). I also called american honda about the service record only to find out that it had its tranny replaced twice...it was on its 3rd tranny. the car has less than 20k miles and it was an 04.

btw...it also had a missing shiftknob...lol

this was when i decided to buy new!

a missing shif knob is nothing... but make sure u ask why?? i went to check out a 2007 Si and it was in the show room missing a shift knob also, i;m just assuming some jerkoff stole it when noone was looking!! a missing knob doesn't mean anything though...

i would first of all test drive both cars. any wierd sounds and squeeks and if there are, make sure u try to see if u can find where it's coming from. then check the underbody, make sure all under panels are intacked. then check to see if any body parts including fenders, front bumper and rear bumper have been removed and put back on. how u do that is to look along the lines of the head lights and tail lights. most of the time, even done by a dealer, if bumpers are removed and put back not properly, the lines of where the bumpers meet the lights are usually off. but what color blue are they, suzuki blue or luguna blue??
