Upgrade S2K to umm.... S2K?
Is it worthwhile of upgrading 03 model to 08?
I love my current S2K to death. Bought just end of last year and it has 42kms milage on it.
I went on to see this 08 Silverstone S2K just out of curiousity and it looks bloody fantastic. Also the fact that it's an AP2, it has all the recent upgrades plus warranty.
The 08 model has less than 2000kms milage (demo) and costs $70K. It has been in the showroom for ages, so I bet I could push it down to around $60K or even less thanks to economic downturn.
But the question is, is it worth it or I might as well just save up for Audi TT-S roadster? Just curious what do you think?
Cheers

Are test drives readily available in your area? Drive a USED AP2 ... and see how you feel about it.
The AP1 vs AP2 thing pretty much boils down to personal preference. Just wanted to make sure, does AUDM 2008 model have the F20c or F22c engine?
Good luck!

A few things to consider come to my mind:
1. You already own one car, or have already begun paying your loan down. In the time that you've owned it, it has begun depreciating. If you pony up for a new car, you'll end up paying quite a bit more for essentially the same car in the long run.
2. Personal preference would play a heavy role in your decision. Personally, I prefer the AP1 (especially my model year) because it DOES NOT come with all those "extras" that are on the new cars. I bought my car because I want to drive it; I don't want it to drive itself, or drive me -- all those electronics, traction control, etcetera don't help with that.
3. Unless you have specific plans for the car that involve the AP2 and newer changes (like specific upgrades, racing, or you like the driving feel of DBW), you're probably not going to feel much of a difference between your car and a new one with casual driving.
4. You can buy a warranty from a 3rd party warranty company.
So if you like the new styling, or desire the new features, go for it. Otherwise I'd keep the one I have.

By Aud TT do you mean fwd or awd? Because fwd is not worth it, and frankly, awd is overpriced for what you get. An 08 will have a lot of changes over an 03, but its still pretty much the same car. The only reason I'd upgrade would be if there was a a color combo I really wanted (like Imola, not avail. in the States). Otherwise, you're just paying more for pretty much the same car.
Think about what you like on the AP2. If its mainly appearance stuff like wheels, lights, bumper, etc, you can update your 03 for a lot less than it will cost you to buy new.
