Same answer as always: test drive (that includes the Audi as well as the AP2).

Worth is always subjective. No one can tell you if it's worth it to you except you.

$60k seems very high (I know it's aussie).
How about this:

An '06 with only 2000kms and I know that they'll take high $30's NZD for it (which is low $30's Aussie). It's been for sale for 18 months (initially for $60+k) and even with shipping charges you'll land it for around $35k.
How much are S2K's new over there?

New is $73K approx.

Crazy compared to US market around $38K. Even if you do the conversion, it's still far less than what we have to pay here in Australia. Bloody tax.

AP2 here has F20C engine so that translates to 9K RPM for the 08 model.

I am overwhelmed with the number of feedback to be honest.

A great community indeed.

He accepts 06 model for $35K???

That sounds too good to be true IMHO considering how much 05 model fetching here ~$50K.

That is also an imported S2K I presumed from the US with F22C.

Does he live close to you?

By Aud TT do you mean fwd or awd? Because fwd is not worth it, and frankly, awd is overpriced for what you get. An 08 will have a lot of changes over an 03, but its still pretty much the same car. The only reason I'd upgrade would be if there was a a color combo I really wanted (like Imola, not avail. in the States). Otherwise, you're just paying more for pretty much the same car.

Think about what you like on the AP2. If its mainly appearance stuff like wheels, lights, bumper, etc, you can update your 03 for a lot less than it will cost you to buy new.
The TT-S RWD 200KW Turbo 4Cyl

Costed me at least two limbs to buy, starting at AUS$98K but then it's AUDI

Wow, and we think it's expensive here in Canada.

How long do you plan to keep the car? If you plan to keep it for a loooong time, it may be worth getting a newer one. That being said, a lot of people have high mileage on their AP1 and their cars seem to run fine still.

Audi!!!??? Are you kidding me ?? Have you driven a tt? I have owned a tt, as well as an s4. The tt is a joke of a sports car. They handle like crap and arent fast at all. They do ok in the looks department but you dont see the exterior of a car when youre driving it. I can say for sure that you will be dissapointed after 6 of those big car payments. For that type of money look at a 335i. Atleast its a real car and you can mod the hell out of it.

I have also owned a TT, and while they aren't excellent at handling out of the box, they are damn good with a thicker rear sway bar to cancel out the understeer. Also, I don't know if you had a 180, 225, or a 250hp... but I had a 225 that I modified a good bit, but nothing extreme, and had ~270HP, and ~300ft.lb. of torque, with plenty more to go if I added a full exhaust, IC, etc. It was fast... faster than my '05 S2k, and handled incredibly well.

Yea... instead of you have to put up with the best interior available for the price...

I don't know about the Mk2 TT, but from what I understand, they've improved the chasis dynamics tremendously. The TT-S/TT-RS should be an amazing ride.

I went from an '01, through a few other cars, and back to an '08. I like most of the differences.

My '08 is a more comfortable daily driver, mostly for a little more grunt down low. But I do like having stability control and TPMS for street driving. The OEM set-up, suspension and tires, is noticeably more stable when pushed hard (with VSA off) than my '01 was.

You already have a glass rear window in '03, right? That's a big improvement from my '01. The improved stereo is still a joke, replaced the whole system right away.
