Default Used '03 or new '04?

So before this years out I'll be letting the Prelude go for an S2K but it's tough to decide between shelling out the extra coin for the '04 or getting a nice used '03. The 9k redline and lower upfront cost of the '03 had me sold, however after reading about some of the improvements in the '04 I'm tempted to make the bigger payments. I haven't seen any cons to the '04 except the shorter time in VTEC and possibly for me the somewhat more tame suspension.

I've modded my lude pretty good but I'd like to keep the S2K more civil, no I/H/E or VAFC for me, more like nice wheels/tires and a hardtop. I'd like to hear some opinions from the existing owners of each.

Thanks

There are still new MY03s to be found too. North Shore Honda on Long Island has two (At least the last time I passed by) Silverstone & Suzuka. They will not test drive them tho.

It will probably come down to the "coin". Which one can you get the best deal on.

If it comes down to the money only I guess the '03 wins then. I've seen them going pretty low here in NJ and I plan to wait it out until the winter anyways....october/november. I was looking for more pro's/con's but I realize the car is great no matter what year you're driving.

What's up Luke. Have you taken delivery of your S2K yet? I hadn't seen any posts on PO about it yet. Anyway I started out leaning towards an '03 so getting the new wheels/tires and hardtop wouldnt be so much of a hit to the wallet. I'm still thinking that way but I'm months off so who knows what I'll finally decide.

you need to drive both back to back to see which one is more appropriate for you. we can't make that decision for you. i obviously made my decision and got the 03, only because it fits me better...not because its better or worse.
both cars have their pros/cons.

good luck
