V-tech the air conditioner
Once a week, I commute to one of my companies manufacturing facilities in rural Mississippi. The best part of the commute is a 20 mile section of two lane highway. It's twisty and hilly with a lot of double yellow lines broken frequently by opportunities to make passes on the dashed yellow. I always encounter at least one vehicle doing 50 mph, which most people think is annoying, but I love it because it is my opportunity to throw it down into 3rd at the next dashed yellows. The V-tech screams it's war cry as I blast past the other car and I laugh as I see the other driver crapping all over himself, shocked out of his mind by the loud red dash passing him on his left.
There is a question to all of you familiar with the inner workings of the electronics of this car. When ever I perform this manuever, I reach up and shut down the air conditioning because I am sure that V-tech cannot be good for the compressor. My question is, does the car automatically shut down the system itself to protect it or do I have to keep doing it myself?

) has no effects on the AC. Plus the compressor disengages when you are at full throttle anyways.
