here's a link for the umbrella

it's cheap, you can make one yourself, but i uses this since it's prolly easier to clip it on the filter

The Umbrella will just restrict airflow thus adding a CAI is worthless. Also, I have ran my car without a fake brake duct cover for over 20,000 miles. No problems.

More airflow = More horsepower.

I also wonder? why? I have mine opened for this reason, and have driven through several of the rainstorms we have been having in california, as well as left it parked outside for hours without any umbrella of this sort and without the hole (between the fender/hood) plugged...

I have had no problems...

a little water is OK for the engine, hence water injection, cooling intake temps and such...you just have to be careful when you initialy start the car, make sure vacuum isn't soo strong to pull water in and your fine,
Well, When I opened it, first it was fine. Nice sound & feels to got some nice gains..
After some nice day, it was rainy day...
I drive to my friend's, there come Engine lights on.
I check my CAI, there is lot of water. More than enough!!!
I take all water out/ dry my CAI...Also there is water behind the throttle bodies/ inside the motor what I HAVE to dry.
Engine just won't ewen start before I dry all the things.
After that it was ok, I changed my oil directly!

Next morning going to drive highway and same problem come on.
Well, few time I have same like problems, then I decide to close that feke side on my front bumbers..
Now after that my car is run very nice.
0 problems after that, soud is not as nice before, it is not breath as good as before, but is much safety.

Of course it's up to you what do you like to do & where you live.
Here we have very many heavy rainy days around year..
So if you live place where is dry, you don't need to worry.
This is my opinion, and this owner ask opinion's.
So.. This is it.

True, climate would play a part...I live in CA, and AZ (AZ for the majority since it is where I'm going to school)...both are relatively "dry" climates. and a lot of the time when it does rain...I don't go out.

However, I was just adding my experiences...like you, as some people saw/know California has had A LOT of rain this year, compared to normal...its already well beyond last years total rainfall

I did drive through many of the heavy rain falls this year with that fake thing removed and without any protection, and even parked my car in the rain for hours and started it up...

I personally have not run into a single problem...everything has been fine for me, but again, everybody is experiences are probably going to be slightly different

I don't even think that you need an umbrella for the V2 IMO, as long as you cover the drain hole plugs under the hood you should be fine

Hi Silver9k !

I don't have anything against you !
I know what you mean when you ask first time, WHY?
Also understand your opinion..

... What you say now, I agreed that !

Enjoy driving there !!!

ps. Some of you ask where to get an umbrella?
Do it your self, it is easy and it work for sure
