the weight is 50/50 which the stock S2000 is 49/51 the cars weight is about 2800lbs. and yes some new tires and wheels are in the future.
No one wants to believe this is possible! I've shown a number of people Tom's LS7 build with his corner weights (49.8f/50.2r), and they still think these swaps are killing the car's balance. When we get enough of them out there, I think opinions will begin to change.

Congrats on the registration! Can't wait to see the car finished.

P.S. I read somewhere you bought your car March 13th or 17th of 2007? I bought mine March 13th 2007... and we registered 3 days apart on S2KI... and now this. WEIRD!

if his car is indeed 2800, properly optioned c5 z06 or c6 base are only marginally heavier, 250~300 lbs. i am surprised his car weighs that much, but i am sure wegiht can be trimmed by removing the softop etc.

if it gets even lighter then you get even less traction

not with the proper wheel/tire combo... xyster, i am very interested in your car, i would very much like to duplicate it, although at ~2400lbs or so. my plan is to build the car for a specific scca class.

i was in georgia a few weeks ago for race, and unfortuneatly i had to get back home, otherwise i was going t look you up xyster. maybe next year....

if you can weigh the car with just the front wheels and then just the back, that would be great. i wish i was local, i would volunteer my corner weighting scales.

A buddy of mine has a V8 swapped S2000 and it came in at 49.8 and 50.2 and at 3028 with 200 lbs driver, widebody kit, 19 inch wheels and all fluids with a full tank of gas.

Ahh, damn. Eeriness broken.

That's right about when I made my initial deposit with Hinson to grab a place in line, though.

Dunno if you'll see it here or the other forum first, but I got to see Hinson's bracket for the Ford diff, looks good (click):
