I'm looking at a VAFC, and what I would do would be to get one of those pre-made harnesses (they sell for about $160 I believe). It's about the same price you would pay a shop to splice the wires and that way if you decide to take it off, you can.

I have an extra harness lying around.... I am one of the makers of the harness. You can have it for $140 shipped to your door.

If you were to have a shop do it, it would probably cost around $120 (at least on the west coast). But a shop would splice into your factory wiring harness... VOIDING your warranty. If you get a harness, it takes 10 minutes to install... and UNINSTALL. Very nice.

If you want some proof about the harness

If you are going to have a shop install the VAFC, they are going to need this.

Good luck... and HAPPY DYNO'ing.

off topic...but...

if spicing into the factory wiring harness voids warranty, would installing an after market alarm also void the warranty???

It is a gray area... but I would say NO. ECU harness splicing is "powertrain" related... that is an expensive warranty part.
