Valentine 1 project anyone?
Well, since Mssr. Stevens has already done the deed it's a moot point, but since I've wanted to get this off of my chest for the longest time......
Gee, MMD, for someone with such disdain for "Honedas" (not a mispelling, you all), it's good to see you stop by to make some dough, especially after your problems on PPBB.
BTW--before posting form letters, is your custom bracket made specifically for the car you hate soooo much, or is there only a Boxster version?
This guy is BAD news, all!!!!

heya all,
I am in the middle of such a project but I've taken a different angle. I've removed the lid of the upper storage compartment, and hollowed it out so that the V1 sits within the lid itself, with a window of smoked plastic covering the holes front and rear.
I'm nearly done with the project, I only have to test the sensitivity to see if it is significantly diminished being enclosed in the lid. I should be done with this test and have results in a week or two, then I'll give you the pictures and scoop on how I did this all.
Until then,
Clark

Hi guys,
Sorry it took so long to get these up. Had a wrestling match with the camera. Anyways, here are some pics. It is not as stealth as Mr MMD's but if feel it is low profile enough. Also, no velcro which I don't think is a wonderful solution.
To address some previous concerns.
I believe, and im sure Greg can attest, the mounting does not interfere with reception in the least bit. I have yet to miss a trap, including laser. It is easy to put on and remove, and it has a clean look. To put the bracket on, you have to remove the two screws that hold the windscreen in place and sandwich the bracket between the lid and windscreen base. Screw stock screws back in place and...viola!
Comments and criticisms welcome.
ps. thanx gregg for the heads up on this MMD character.
pps. youre going to want to get the remote head as well.
I put it on the dash, right next to the A-pillar. I can provide pics of this as well.

I'm not an S2000 owner but I do like the car. I'm a Porsche Boxster S owner and I have posted the usual stuff in favor of the car I own while poking fun at S2000 people who have come to the Boxster Board. So I do understand getting hammered by S2000 owners when I visit your board.
I've developed a V1 Stealth Box with a Custom Bracket (for the Boxster) that certainly could work (the box could be great for you V1 owners) in your cars. I've been the custom box route. I've had a number of boxes made with different colored lenses in front and back (including a red rear lens). I've come up with a great box that is just a bit larger than the V1 unit itself.
You can see the V1 Stealth Box and the installation at a PhotoPoint album site:

As for being "bad news" well, I'm not sure why Greg posted that except for my giving people posting Honda stuff on the Boxster board (we get a lot of trolls there). I'm a car enthusiast who would like to spend more time driving with Honda S2000 owners both on and off the track.
Thanks for giving me a chance.

A question for someone who knows a lot more about this than me:
Doesn't putting the V1 in a box with a red lense dramatically cut down the unit's sensitivity to laser (because the laser light is in the red end of the spectrum)?

Actually, Dan, I posted not only because of your dubious comments towards the S2000 but also your demeanor towards many on PPBB, not just the trolls. What you describe as poking fun has in many instances infuriated others there and I for one would not like to see a repeat here.
The fact that you come here, post a form letter touting a solution your company offers for the Boxster that will not mount on an S2000 is both deceiving and deceitful. For shame that you did not read the boards policies on advertising. If you had, you would have found it quite similar to PPBB's, a place where you had been chastised for such behavior just recently.
The fact that you do not own an S2000 does not bother me in the least. I'm just giving a not-so-subtle warning to my breatheren.
Welcome

Welcome
C'mon Greg, I wasn't about to try to sell a bracket that works on a Boxtser to someone who owns an S2000. I wanted to let folks know about the solution that I came up with for the Boxster because it is so similar to what it looks like S2000 owners are searching for.
I spent a lot of time and money developing the V1 Stealth Box and Bracket and yes, I am selling them for a nominal cost, to get back my investment. I'd be happy to work with S2000 owners to create a bracket that can be easily attached.
Have you spent any time looking at the V1 Stealth Box? What do you think of the box? And what about the bracket?
I appreciate you letting me on this board and welcoming me. I hope you'll judge me based on my posts and actions here rather than what you think you might know about me from another board. FYI: I've done a LOT for Boxster owners around the world. I just finished organizing the West Coast Boxsterfest where we had 50 Boxsters and 100 people together for a weekend on the central coast of California. You won't find too many other people who have done similar things.
Yes, I do have a business - we sell automotive products and accessories at discounted prices. I will try not to violate any of your board's policies.
best regards,
-Dan
