I have my V1 on the driver's side visor. I hate the visor clip, it scratched the frame above it before I realized it and it slides around too much. I don't want a permanent mount nor do I want to window mount it. I think some sort of visor pouch, especially if done in conjunction with a leather visor cover, would do the trick. Any suggestions?

Actually, Rick, if you're trolling, a passenger side visor leather case for the V-1 would be a hell of an idea. If you could build it with smoked plastic or something in the back so the unit couldn't be seen, but could still function to the rear, the holder would provide a fairly stealthy location. It might not even attract any attention from the highway patrol (sometimes, as we're all aware, those guys are a lot more likely to give you a warning if you don't have the detector in your car.) You could even just provide enough room for the sensor to 'see' out the back and keep the rest of it covered in leather. Everyone would then have to get the remote unit as well to see it function.
If you do this, you'd sell a ton of them.

If you do it, MJMSC and Utah S2K deserve a couple bucks off theirs.

I like this idea very much. I have a V-1 mounted on the windshield near the mirror and this would definitely be more stealthy. We'll build a pocket right into the leather visor covers we're working on.

Rick... that would be totally awesome! I have a V1, but don't use it nearly as much as I should because it is a pain to mount each time I get in and out of the car. I luv my V1, but it's size makes it a little inconvenient and conspicuous when mounted high up...

This idea borders on brilliant... DO IT!

I'm totally down with this idea...

Rick, I would also love a nice leather carrying case that holds the V1 (I call mine "Mike" ...) And maybe a couple of other compartments...for glasses, sunblock, stuff like that...

Any takers?

My current set up (to the right of rear mirror) works fine but it's really out there for all to see (including the CHP). I'm for anything that more stealthy, functional, and
clean looking.

Rick, can you provide a wedge at the rear so the V1 sits level with the road when the sunvisor is retracted?

Right now, when mounted on the visor, the V1 points down toward to road thus reducing its effective detection range. This is why I have mine windshield mounted at the moment.

Thanks!
