Unless I'm forced to (which is extremely rare) I never valet park my S2K (I don't really care about the Prelude anymore). . .

In general, I will not drive the S2000 to places where I have to valet it. . . And after watching this week's Sopranos episode, I may never valet park the S2000 again!!!

Last time I valet parked it, the morning guy at the hotel couldn't start it! [Didn't know about the little red button!]
I prefer not to, if possible.

I worked as a cashier/booth operator for a valet service a few years back....after seeing how those guys handled some of the cars coming in, it made me think twice about handing my own car keys to a valet....as a matter of fact, I saw at least a dozen valets fired for mishandling customer cars....

Personally I would never valet my car ever again. I had one experience where I had to get valet for a club in LA. When I came back around 3 I didn't see my car on the lot and I was freaking out. I asked the guys at the office and they just gave me a confused look. Next thing I knew I saw some bright hid's coming down the road. Of course it was my car and some guy in his 20's was taking my car for a joy ride. I even gave the guy that parked my car a large tip and asked him to take care of it for me, instead I find some punk having run with my car. I wanted to beat the crap out of him but I had a date with me and I didn't want to her to see me like that, just took so much strenght to hold in my anger.

At the time the car was only a few weeks old and havn't even been broken in yet. I took it to honda the next day to have it checked out since the tranny felt weird after that. The guys at honda world said nothing was wrough though, but I still wonder. My advice is never valet or ask if you can park the car yourself and keep the keys with you.

Never. Most of us on this site are more than a little anal about our cars, and giving the keys to some young punk is simply begging for disaster. There have been many threads here containing horror stories about valet parking, many of them in fact written by the valets themselves!

Bottom line: if it's just "a car" to you, then you won't care who drives it or how. If it's a special piece of driving exoticism, as I'd guess many here feel, you won't go anywhere that requires your car be driven by someone who's judgment and skills are lesser than yours.

I once stayed at a VERY nice Mariott hotel overlooking Niagra Falls that had a valet. I had driven my lightly-modified CRX from Texas up there, and still was heading farther to the northeast after that. Needless to say, I refused to let them valet park my car. In addition, when I was going to the valet lot one cold morning to get my car, I saw them get in a car that had been parked all night, get in it, start it up, and proceed to FLOOR it the entire length of the lot. Being that the engine was cold and the rings probably were consequently not sealing well at this point, the car blew out a lot of blue smoke. I'm sure this easily took 10k miles off of the life of that engine with that kind of abuse. The engine had LITERALLY been not running for more than 5 seconds when they did this.

Luckily for me, this was in Livingston, NJ. LOL. Bump it up to $20...or more. It's definitely worth the peace of mind.

I remember one time......when I was on my way to the ballgame, and we decided to park the Ferrari in a valeted parking garage. Wouldn't you know it, not 5 minutes after we turn over the keys.....they come flyng out of garage.......and get airborne.

Oh wait.........I forgot, I was watching Ferris Bueller.

Man, that was a sweet Ferrari. Stupid Cameron!
