Default VDC-Vertical door conversion kit for s2000

I wanted to know what you guys think about this new mod that has been introduced to the rest of the world that doesn't own a lambo or any other $200.000 ride. I was in my room looking at some car mags and the idea hit me. Imagine getting ready to valay your s2k at the movie theater or any public place and when you open your doors they open vertically. i think that would be some wicked eye candy for someone to see. I know some shaving and hard work might be involved in-order to get your doors converted that way, but man when it's all done you'll really break necks when people see what your s2k did. Shit man, if i had that on mine i would jump in and out of my car just to open the doors. Anyway, thats my opinion... How do you guys feel about the vdc on the s2k. Are there any or have you seen s2k's with the vertical door conversions. If so can you post some pics cause i would love to see it...

Not really all that practical on a Convertible. I don't think I'd want to screw the the fit of the door where thats concerned.

I can't think of any widely-known cars that use scissor doors other than Lamborghini. To the best of my knowledge, Ferrari has never used them. The Enzo's doors open up and out (not strictly up like a Murc), and it is not a convertible. I'm sure adding the struts and all other necessary equipment for scissor doors would add weight, without adding performance, which is not exactly Ferrari's style. They also hinder ingress/egress, so they are not very practical.

Have vertical doors on the S2000 is not my cup of tea. It is an expensive conversion that will likely get more criticism than anything else.

I don't understand what's so great about having vertical doors on anything but a Lambo or anything it was truly designed for and came from the factory that way. First of all, most car doors are HEAVY. I can't imagine my girlfriend or someone trying to lift the door to get in and out, or how bad it would hurt if the door was to fall on you. Second, it looks like on most cars it would be extremely awkward and difficult to get in and out of.

If you want to impress a valet, pull up in a 911.

I think it looks good, but soon every ricer with 2 grand will be putting it on every ricemobile on the road.

If you like it by all means do it though. I think it will have eye appeal in a ricer way.
