Veilside hood question
I was hopeing anyone with a veilside hood and help me out. I am interested in getting one but and worried about water getting into the engine bay through the two vents. Is there something on the veilside hood that prevents water from getting in either from rain or washing? I know other hood have it but i want to know about the veilside one for sure before i buy. thanks
There is no enclosure to protect against rain from going in. The hood is fully functional, it is light weight and is designed to pull hot air out of the engine compartment when you are driving. It's not designed to do anything more. Water should not be a problem unless you park your car out in the rain all night long, or in the heavy rain. It's always good to carry a roll of 200mph race tape (duct tape
) with you. You can tape up the mesh grill from underneath the hood and pull it off later.

remember the hood is not made just to look pretty. The sole function of the hood is performance, what purpose would a reverse vented hood have with a closed vent? This is not just with the veilside hood, but any performance hood.
Remember with most performance modifications, you may gain in one area but you may lose in another.
It's finding the best balance of both worlds that is suited to the tastes of each individual that is tricky.
