Default Rain and Vented Hoods

Is it okay to drive around in the rain with a vented hood? Wouldn't water get into the engine bay area and do damage? Just wondering, cuz planning to buy one, and wondered if a water would affect it?

If you check out vented hood some of them say that they have rain channels which vent out the rain from going to your engine but the amuse hood doesnt have these channels so beware, i'd go with the top secret or veilside vented hood because i think both of them have the rain channels. If anyone knows for sure please feel free to correct me

I have the Top Secret CFRP, vented hood and it does have removable rain channels. The hood is yet on the car so I can not say how well it works.

I haven't personally seen the Top Secret hood from the bottom, however the "rain channel" system probably blocks off alot off the effectivness of the hood. Once the car is at speed there won't be any water getting in to the engine bay, only when the car comes to a stop (all the water rushes forward) or when the car is sitting still, where it will drain in, and rain will simply fall in. Ethier way, there aren't any intakes which place the filer under the vents of any of the vented hoods, and there arent any venter hoods with vents over the fuse box or battery.

ur fine, at most dealerships they use what they call breaker in the detail boothes and spray the engine bay with it, then take a hose and wash it off... lol. Ive seen people pressure wash their engines, i wouldnt recommend doing that but they did not damage anything.

I pressure wash my engine twice a month. I don't spray anything too directly to avoid blowing past any rain seals. Your engine is designed to be protected from moisture. I've never had a single hickup. Just don't spray into the intake.
