Default Ventilation Panel Option

Hey everyone,

I've had my 2005 S2000 for about two months now. There's one thing that I'm not too sure of. What is that 3rd option from the left on the ventilation panel?

Thanks!

I believe the owner's manual says that is the recommended vent setting when driving with the top down. Not sure the reason why. I think that this is the only setting when the vents just above the radio are used. I really don't notice much difference.

It's the convertible top down setting. Basically, it redirects airflow to the vent above the radio and to the feet to keep the air circulating in the cabin.

edit: hawk eye beat me to it!

Ah, I see... I tried to look for it in my manual but realized that I only have a French version! Seems like the previous owner forgot to include the Englishs one, haha!

I notice quite a difference. Especially when it is the AC being used and not Heat.

What kind of difference do you notice? Less wind noise in the cabin? You use that "top-down" mode in conjunction with the AC?

The difference is that when the top is down, the air from the dash vents is basically "lost" is the turbulence whereas the air from the lower vents isn't as affected by the turbulent air.

Definitely feel the difference. I use it when I have the top down and even at times when I have the top up and I don't want any air hitting my face (air still comes in even if you have the air flow turned off).

im so jealous! my setting is broken =( and its like 2 grand to fix it. my alarm installer put the box too close to the mode door mechanics... im so sad... anyhow, if i had that setting still active, i would use it all the time, it gets heat to your shifting hand via the little vent on top of the radio.
