SUCCESS!

I used a couple of small pieces of a plug from a tire repair kit. A little trial and error and I got.

As far as the shift pattern, I think I would prefer not to have it, but this was a trade for another knob, so I didn't mind. Now that it lines up, I think it looks pretty good.

thanks for the suggestion

[QUOTE=lydas2000,Dec 29 2005, 02:22 PM] Just installed an etched pearl finish VooDoo knob. The functionality is great, but the shift pattern is almost completely backwards. Any fixes? Plumbers tape, flange nut, etc.?

The solution is quite simple, and it has nothing to do whatsover with the locknut, as some posts here have suggested. And forget the aluminum foil and small pieces of cardboard -- they're very inelegant solutions.
Hehe, listen to Rick. . . not me.

I don't have ADHD. I traded with another member so I never received any indtructions.

I was hoping you would weigh in Rick since it is your product. My not-so-elegant solution seems to be working, but if it starts to loosen over time, I will try the Loctite.

thanks

You can put four or five layers of white teflon tape (plumbing) on the threads and it will change where the shift pattern lines up. It may take you a couple of times to get the pattern to line up correctly, but the teflon tape is very cheap and the process is easily reversed.

The Loctite is the best solution. A drop or two, and if your remove the knob, another drop or two when it is screwed back down.
