The whole purpose of this knob was to let the knob set lower on the lever which makes the shift lever shorter. This means you have to move the knob less distance to make a shift. I doubt that you will have enough threads in the knob to put a locknut underneath the knob.

If the height of the knob is bothering you I would suggest that you get another knob.

Good luck,
Bob

I suppose you could try one of two things:
1. Put the stock lock nut down as far as it will go and then see if the thread on the stick will reach the thread inside the knob. It might not but if it does, then you may have the knob higher than you'd like.
2. You can consider getting a die (like in tap and die) and extend the threads on the stick so that the stock lock nut will go far enough down for you to have the knob at your desired height.

If all else fails, you might talk to Muz or Rick (Hessel) and see if they have one that would work for you.
