Default VSA or not to VSA?

Hi,

I ordered a 2006 S2000 in Berlina black....I specifically ordered with VSA which put deliver time to 12 weeks, then 16 weeks and now its more like 18 weeks.

I can have a non-VSA in 2 weeks.

I want to know from anyone in the know, or who owns either car as to whether VSA is worth the wait!? Does VSA significantly improve the cars handling?

Are there any negatives to it?

What would you guys seriously do?

I have already been waiting 8 weeks so its gonna be another 10 (or maybe more at this rate).

Thanks

If you don't want VSA, you need to order option '05. C'mon, did your dealer honestly tell you this?

Guys.........in England VSA is not standard on the 06. You have to order it at no extra cost. It adds about 12-16 weeks to delivery time.

I want to know if you think it is woth it? does anyone have the car with or without the VSA?

Im 23 and this is the first car I am buying new and so I am relying on you guys to give me your informed opinion. Will i ever wish that i waited or will i never know the difference (silly question I know).....?

VSA is a good idea if you drive the vehicle on public roads. Honda made it easy to disable for when you want to use the vehicle in an environment where you can push the car. That being said, waiting 4 months to get this option is a tough call.

Get the VSA. Patience is a valuable trait, but I feel you'll appreciate it the first time it saves your ass.

Just for your clarification, the VSA will not make the car handle better. What it will do is step in and try to fix things if you ever over-drive the car.

Remember, VSA will not make you invincible- if you do something stupid enough, VSA can't compete with physics.

Get it, man. Just wait a little bit longer. It'll save your ass one of these days and you will be thankful. Waiting a few months for something that will always be on your car later on is a good thing.

Patience!

I say its worth the wait, I'm sure when you decide to sell the car the VSA will be a selling point

Some great comments in this thread. I'll add another one:

According to the IIHS, VSA-type systems was shown to reduce single-vehicle crash involvement risk by 41%. Involvement in fatal single-car accidents was reduced by 56%.

Yeah, I think I'd get that.
