VTEC light?

Anyone that needs a light to tell them when their car is in VTEC mode should not be driving this car.
Let me get this straight, you want to cut into a perfectly good wiring harness, tap into the wires that CONTROL the VTEC system, cut into your dashboard somewhere to put a totally useless light to tell you something that any deaf, dumb and blind kid could tell you just by feel.
Amazing.

Bieg,
Once you have taken a hacksaw to the top and filled the well with subwoofers ( oh, about 200 lbs worth ), fill the trunk with amps, hacked up the dash for the head unit complete with television, replaced the seat with a road going lazyboy, riveted and chicken wired the dss dish to the hood, you need a light to let you know what is going on.
I actually use my den at home for my electronic entertainment and the car for road going entertainment.

If you want a quick and dirty opposite contrast deal, type VTEC, swap the black and white colors (white letters on black background), and print to an overhead sheet (acetate). Cut to size of light as usual...you could use colored acetate, or maybe magic markers to give a tint. I would probably leave it clear, and use a dual-color LED...red for normal, turns green for VTEC (or vice versa).
This mod can be fairly easy to accomplish, given your definition of "VTEC" point.
- Purchase a shift light kit from VDO / Autometer / etc.
- Wire into the tach output and set it for ~6K rpm.
This will take car of most the cases you want, but if you're really anal about if and when it goes on like me, you can wire it into the ECU (I'll have to see the schematics to determine which input/output) and use a simple oil / water meter warning light, also sold by VDO / AutoMeter.
Personally having such a mod already on a Supra TT (albeit for shift point)...it can get really annoying, although I admit it looks kool and scares the crap out of most people around you!

One of the most popular mods on the del sol was a relatively easy on. We would create a relay to the dash board with a small led that would flash on when VTEC kicked in. Some of us had custom dash kits that actually had a spot for the light and would actually say "VTEC". It was a pretty cool modification that would be pretty easy to do on the S2000. Simply run the relay from the ecm under the passenger side carpet. It involved splitting a few wires. One of you S2000 accessory gurus should come up with a great design. maybe integrating it into our dash.

=> Whats the meaning of your point, are you just an ass, I really dont care if you dont need a VTEC light to drive your S2000. Keep your snappy ass opinion to yourself. I wouldn't drive an S2000 and call myself something dumb like Beig.
