Each X is 100ml (for those who use metric). Definately worth checking oil before you set off and every 200 miles or so. The first time I started using VTEC after the break in period I used 500ml very quickly then it seemed to remain steady - don't ask me why.

I measured the XXX pattern on the dip stick and each X was 200ml of oil.
i was going to say the same but i thought i might have been wrong in thinking it was 200ml per diamond.
