Default VTEC Problems...HELP!!!!!

Hello everyone....

Got problems

I recently noticed that the VTEC system on my car hesitates (minor jerks) as soon as it kicks in and than continues to hesitate randomly as the RPM continues to increase...I notice this behavior mostly between gears 2 - 4.

Anyone else ever have a similar problem???

My car currently has 34K on it; I have scheduled an appointment at my local Honda dealer to have the car checked on Monday...

Any feedback or guidence would be greatly appreciated...

Could this be the O2 sensor? I seem to remember these symptoms associated with a sensor, but I can't remember 100%.

I occasionally have that problem, but it mysteriously goes away. This just happened to me within a week of replacing my map sensor for another related issue. This VTEC problem you're reporting doesn't throw a problem code with the ECU, so the only way to figure out what's going on is to have an OBDII laptop connected while recreating the problem. I'm hoping that it could provide a clue to fix this annoying problem.

You might try Searching the "Under The Hood" forum for more instances.

I just had this same problem happen on my car starting a few days ago. I took it into the dealer and they took a few diagnostic snapshots and sent them off to honda tech. It came back that it was the MAP sensor, which most people seem to have the same problem with. Anyway, mine wasn't bad just had loos connections. Try reconnecting it. That may help. My baby is all better now.

Check your spark plugs. Maybe misfiring?

i know this may not necessarily apply to the F20C, but on my old JDM B16A, i experience a very strange hesitation in the engine one day. it would occur at random RPMs and gradually go away as i gave it more throttle. anyways, i couldn't figure out what it was (and at that point i refused to take it to a mechanic ). anyways i did a compression test, check and cleaned the plugs, replace the distributor cap & rotor, cleaned the injectors, etc...

turned out to be my oil. i wasn't that much overdue, but for some reason redline oil gives up fast.. i changed back to mobil 1 tri-syn and it ran like a dream again. i let the change go overdue like last time and didn't experience the problem again.

hahaha if this doens't help, too bad. i felt like blabblering..

While changing my oil filter I kinda wondered how easy it would be to accidentally damage the connector or wire going to the VTEC solenoid
