Default VTEC and synthetic oil

I did the car's first oil change today. I switched to Amsoil 10W30. Before, I could almost always feel VTEC kick in. I hit it four times coming home, but couldn't feel any transition. I'm almost certain VTEC kicked in but it was so smooth it wasn't noticeable. Has anyone else had this happen after switching to synthetic?

TIA

No. Check your oil level. It may be low.

when you tested the switchover what gear were you in? the switchover always feels more in 1st or 2nd compared to 3rd or 4th...

he just changed the oil so i'm pretty sure he's ok in that dept, unless he forgot to tighten the drain bolt...

The oil level is fine. I was in second gear all four times, but I've felt it switch in second before.

Yeah, cars runs smoother. Also, the longer your own the vehicle, teh switchover becomes less noticeable, just a fact of life.

Yes, but I felt the switchover driving to the oil change, but not driving home.

Strangely, searching this forum, I found that several people have noticed this, but some say the kick comes back in a few hundred miles.

Well, it's like brushing your teeth, everything feels nice and smooth, fresh and clean. Then all that crap builds up again.

Give it time, you'll feel the kick again.
