Default Vtec feel after an oil change

Just changed my oil yesterday, mobil 1, and took the car out today for the first time. When I shifted into third and let it gone past 6K rpm. No vtec kick whatsoever NOrmally, I feel a little kick, even though not as noticeable as 2nd or 1st gear, but this time it was just a smooth transition? What went wrong? I didn't touch anything else when changing the oil. I will check the map sensor later just to make sure nothing is amissed.

This is a common trait of synthetic and has been discussed numerous times. I had pretty much the same effect when I switched over to Redline. No need to worry...nothing is amiss.

I think it may actually be a good thing because the ease of transition probably signifies that the synthetic is doing it's job of being slicker.

I guess it's normal... When i switch to Redline i notices the same thing. My freind drives a '98 prelude and '97 Civic Si and he notices the same things when using Synthetic oil.
