Default Want to get rid of front license plates...

Hey guys, I just bought my MY06 S2K last month as a b-day present for myself. I absolutely love it especially the way it just looks from the front....BUT there is a small issue I have. See when i bought the car from the dealer, they had already placed a front license plate tag/frame. Now, I really can't stand to see cars with front tags because I feel like it completely ruins the look of the bumper/front end. I want my car to have a plain front end. I know that people who do not have plates in the front have two small plugs in the front. I was wondering, if possible, where I can get those plugs or if there is anything I can do to fill those holes once I take off my tags? I've searched the forums about this but all I found was some replacement tags that are electronic and go up and down....

P.S.- if anyone has experience with this please let me know...i can't seem to take off the tag frame for some reason...i thought it was a normal screw/bolt but i can't seem to unscrew or pull out the tag frame...i can't even see on the inside of the front bumper since its so covered up by everything. Please advise...thanks!

The "plugs" are OEM parts you can have your local dealer order for $6.

Just make sure you don't push in the metal threads with the prongs of the plugs or else you'll have to take your bumper off to push them back in. Try working them in sideways rather than jamming them in directly square.

The license plate bracket is attached to your bumper by two screws in the front and one screw and clip to the grill. You have to take the license plate off the frame to unscrew the frame from the bumper.

Thanks for the input CKit..I already took the actual license plate off but the frame isn't coming off easily. I figured it would be just two screws on each side of the frame but they don't look like screws. Like I said, I've tried pulling and unscrewing with a plier but no luck. I really wish I could see on the other side of the bumber to see if anything is holding it back from coming out.

There are two sort of centered 10mm bolts that connect the frame to the front bumper. There is a post from the bottom of the frame to the grill that is also secured by a 10mm bolt.

Don't pull hard on anything or force the issue, it's not right. I can take pictures of the frame if you want to see what connects.

On the same note, does anyone know if there are there any such plugs to fill in the holes from the rear emblem?

^Try bumperplugs.com. They might have something that'll work for you. For some reason, they use Porsche and BMW colors, so it might not be an exact match. I bought a pair of plugs from them to fix my old Forester, and it worked out pretty well.

Reminds me of a thread from back in '06 of a guy wanting the factory plugs to fill some holes in his front end. Downside was they were on his car already - some jackass at the used car stealership drilled into the plastic and stuck a tag on the front of his Spa AP1!

I had the same issue when I bought my S at the dealer. I told them that they need to supply the plugs. At first they told me that they can order them for like $12 but I insisted that they provide them for me, which they did. When I got home I found out that the original plugs were in the "secret" compartment.
