You haven't done any research have you? It's already the most powerful production engine per liter ever made. What makes you think you can make it better than Honda? Don't waste a dime on CAI's or any of that crap. Save it for the super.

You are incorrect my friend. I dont know what the most powerfull engine per liter it but I do know that the RX-8 has a 1.3 liter engine with 232 horsepower. I love my S but the RX-8 has more power per liter than the s2000 so dont say the s2000 has the most power per liter out of any engine...learn the facts

RX8 does not have a 1.3 ltr engine... its considered that becase its rated like a 2 stroke engine. If it was rated like a 4 stroke (like the s2000), it would be considered a 2.6. IMO, the F20 is the highest output motor ever mass produced in a production car, next to a fararri.

You can't mod the RX8 much either

you guys are great. i still wonder about the primary question. what is the most reliable , cost effective way to add horsepower. is it only fi and then headers ,test pipe and exhaust system. do you really get 320-330 hp with those mods. is 7000
4 do it yourself or having it installed. sorry but i am also a newbie and part of my research is asking you who have done the research. thanks very much for your imput. my car is an 06 so may have to wait a while for si.

I just love these sorts of threads.
I'm sitting here slapping my typing fingers just to keep from posting what I really think. Then out of the woodwork comes somebody who wants to compare a rotory engine with a reciprocating engine. Nice! Oh, I hear there's a turbine engine out there that'll produce something like 300 HP, but it's really tough to measure the displacement. Let's just say it's a 1L and call it the winner. Oh WAIT! There's this nuclear fission engine. They say it only occupies 1 cc of space.

The power isn't in ITB's why does this comment always come up?

Once you are making 280whp N/A you can kiss a large portion of streetability and reliability goodbye. There will be more up-keep costs (as well as initial) associated than say just a basic turbo kit and tuning.

Of course, you can always go with the 2.5L stroker kit and make 250-260whp N/A and then work on getting some cams made to have the power keep going:

I'm surprised no one mentioned swapping in a gas turbine engine. They aren't cheap but they make great power.

Well Im going To start Moding my S2k. but 1st i have some Q. And tell me what you Guys think.
The mods that i have in mind are there.

AEM CAI V2
Vtec Controllor (lowering to 4500 Rpms For Vtec to kick in)
t1r 70mm or the T1R 63 Ver.2 ( wich one is better?)
Test Pipe. And If i keep the o2 Sencor my Check Engine light wont come up right?
And what are the Best Cams for our cars?

If you guys Have any Ideas On othere Mods Plz say.

I also Want to Run 100Octane. How much Power do you guys Think Il have. Oo and in Winter time I think im going to turbo it or Supercharge it.

Ps: the goal im trying to Do is around 260 to 280 On N/A

Thanks Guys Andy
With those mods you are probably going to get around 210 whp. So that means if you race a stock s2000 it is still a driver's race. Also, someone mentioned toda cams which are called "killer cams" which kill your vtec. This means that you are constantly in vtec the entire time which will also kill your gas . Also, the gains from that are minimal and insufficient for the money they cost. The only way to actually make power out of a NA s2000 is to stroke it or getting ITBs. Adding 100 octane to an NA setup won't really do anything compared to FI where you can advance the timing and up the boost to a safer degree due to the lesser chance of detonating.
