i was wondering.... for all the owners who take cares of their S2000, how long do you guys/girls wait for car to warm up before driving it?

Just start it up and drive!

Letting it idle does no good, the fuel is rich at startup.

Start button--> Release hand brake-->1st gear-->clutch out, gas in

= about 4 seconds.

It seems like the longer I let the car idle after initial startup, the less responsive it is when driving.

Get in and drive. It's never good to let the car idle to warm up. It'll warm up faster by driving!

Refrain from VTEC until you've driven a good 6-7 minutes, if you can. 3 bars isn't even a good indication. That just means your water temp is up to operating temp. Your oil will still be much cooler.
