Default warranty coverage after an accident?

Hello all,

I'm hoping yall can help me out with a question. I am the second owner of my s2k, and when I bought it I was aware that it had been in an accident before. Well the trunk started to leak so I took it in for service and the service lady told me that she would "try" to get Honda to cover it under warranty, but she didn't know if they would since it had been in an accident. Is this how they would normally go about this or are they just trying to screw me? My other concern is that the dealership are the ones who did the bodywork when it was wrecked so either way shouldn't they fix it if its leaking due to not being put back together correctly? Any advise would appreciated today before I get a call from her later on.

Thanks,

Josh

Sounds like they're trying to screw you. As long as it was repaired with genuine Honda parts, there should be no problem. I went through the same thing with my Subaru. Always insist on genuine parts.

If she doesn't get it serviced under warranty, you should speak to the service manager. If he can't "do anything", then go to another Honda dealer.
