Default Warranty questions concerning carpet and clutch.

First off, I know there's a TSB concerning the clutch and the loud humming coming from it during deceleration, my question is this: I'm experiencing the same sound from my car, but it doesn't really bother me at all, should I just take the car in to get the clutch replaced before my warranty expires ( it's a 2K1 w/ 16k miles ) or do you think I shouldn't bother with this at all?

Secondly, I have noticed that the passenger side carpet has a tendency to wear out where the hump goes, will Honda replace this carpet under warranty, especially since the car is only 2 years old and only has 16K miles, IMO this isn't reasonable wear and tear for a a car with this mileage. Anyone had any luck or tried getting Honda to replace the carpet? TIA.

Get the clutch fixed under the TSB.

You can try to get them to cover the carpets, but I think you will have to pay to get the carpet replaced. It is a ware item and cost 300 + labor. This is the main reason that full length carpets were created. Even at 2k miles mine was looking rough, and I don't have anyone in that seat very often. Honda should have had a full length mat with the car from the start. But then again the MY00 did not even have those small mats as standard equipment.

On what grounds can they deny the claim?

Actually....not to be a smart ass but if you buy a pair of Nikes and they are I belive under 3 years old, you can send them in to the head office and they will send you back a brand new pair of either the same shoes or the upgraded version. Thats only if the sole broke, leather ripped and other hardcore wear and tear issues. I haven't bought a pair of shoes in like 4 years hehehe
