Default Weird Survey Phone Call...

I just got a very weird survey phone call asking me numerous questions about the S2000, NSX and Gran Turismo.

They basically asked a bunch of questions about where I get my info on purchase decisions for cars, parts etc. Then they asked several questions focused on whether or not I would like or prefer or been more likely to have purchased the S2000 if it was an Acura. They also asked whether or not I think the NSX should be an Acura or a Honda here in the US. When I told them it should be an Acura, they asked why and when I told them that "when you spend $85-90k for a car, you deserve to have good quality service and Honda dealers are totally un-capable of giving good service. That is the same reason why sometimes I wish the S2000 was an Acura, quality of service."

At that the lady said, "well thanks, this survey is over."

Makes me wonder if they didn't like the last answer I gave.

I completely agree with you. The only problem is that from it's inception in the US, Honda was positioned as an affordable car. This has therefore attracted the type of personnel that really dont car about customers, rather, they care about pushing product and getting service done as affordably as possible...i.e. poor quality service. The acura name in the US is SUPPOSED to be a higher quality product, thus, they have attracted personnel who care more about quality than pushing product (or that was the intent at least). Thus, for our US market, we most definately would receive better quality service if the car was wearing an Acura badge. Thus, my reasoning...

Don't get me wrong, I wish honda would eliminate the Acura name and sell everything as a Honda, but that would mean changing the whole market positioning of Honda in the states, something they are not going to do....

Interesting survey. You should've told her that almost everyone on this board agrees with you about the crappy customer service.
