Default Weird top holes..

Just got my car a few weeks ago..the top looked like this.. :

Had putty filled in like that on both sides of the top.

Where it's rubbing from.. :

It's really not visually appealing at all.. Doesn't leak or anything, though.

It is a MY03. Does anyone else's do this? Any way to fix without replacing the whole top?

reason behind the holes:

Elastic worn out from top and when he lowered it, punctured two holes.I had the same holes on my top.mine was still under warranty so they replaced my top free of charge.

my conclusion:either he really liked to lower his top often or the climate has something to do with it also(extreme heat).reason for my elastic was because of both of the above.

holes in my top, exactly the same location as yours.

Thanks for the reply,

Is there an alternative to getting a new top?

Do all the AP1 S2000's have this problem?

I went and looked at an 05 today and when the top was down, it didn't rub like that..

Mine came with the exact same hole... one on the passenger side.

Now I use a free hand when lowering the top to push the bar backwards...

Proper way to fix it is to get modifry's straps
