Can you tell me if the VAFC can be tuned easily... as in dynamic at the track, or is it setup once by a professional on the dyno?
Bets bet is have it tuned by a tech on a dyno, and leave it that way. You'll avoid any unwanted mishaps.

Hmmmm, not really. You just impress easy?
This started out as a simple enquiry into "how" to connect up a VAFC. It quickly got HIJACKED and became a whole debate (nope, let's call it what it really is - an argument) over the pros and cons of a VAFC. I don't recall that question being asked in the original post at all. In fact, the answer was given within a couple of replies.
Destined for greatness? Naw, this thing took a dive into the crapper right from the get go and is destined for mediocrity. Perhaps in the land of little childrens' sand box "I've got a Tonka dump truck. What do I need to put sand into it?" type of drama, this thread is "great".

I'm bringing this thread back to let everyone know that I'll be tuning my VAFC 2 on the 12 of Jan.... I will post my results after the first tune..I'm also planning on taking it back to dyno again 2-3 weeks later to see if the ECU actually "re-learns" the base maps...Hopefully this will put to rest all the speculations and rumors associated with this particular topic...By bringing this topic back to life, I really don't want anyone arguing over if it works or not...Let's just wait on my results...

there's doubt on this subject?

FACT: changes to WOT fueling while in open loop operation with no o2 feedback will stay the same, they will not be "tuned out" by the ECU

FACT: changes to part throttle tuning while the ECU is in closed loop operation using o2 feedback will be cancelled out by the ECU as it adjusts fuel trims.

False

FACT : Long term fuel trim is effected by short term fuel trim . WOT looks at the long term fuel trim . So yes it can be effected .

this how the ecu knows how to change WOT settings for elevation , temp.... etc.

and you dont think that stuff is compensated for by using input from the pressure and intake temp sensors?
