Default What is the best fog light to use?

I'm looking to get a fog light (fog light, driving light, whatever technical term you want to assign to it, although I know there is a distinct difference between the two terms) that not only enhances lighting in bad weather conditions but also illuminates the road more in pitch black conditions.

What are some recommendations that work well in BOTH conditions that you guys have installed on the S2000?

Additionally, where do you mount it for optimal utility as well as aesthetic value? I will need a mounting position that is reversible (as in I can return it to stock). In the past some of us have been looking forward to Rick fabricating a kit for the fake brake vents but I don't think that will ever come to pass... where are some other positions, or if you have found a way to put it in the brake vents, without too much modification to the bumper?

Look at Raybrig. They have HID foglights that are amazing. A little pricey, but they are definately top notch... as for the mounting, it depends on the bumper your putting them in

I know Raybrig makes good products but what fogs, if any, have you S2k guys used?

And well the stock HID's put alot of light on the road, but in the rain more light is necessary, and in pitch black country areas, more light is necessary too.. I don't like having to turn highbeams on because it blinds people. Foglights, being low, can be aimed to where they shoot out farther on the road than the stock lights, but yet are not directed up in the air like the highbeams.

I don't think you'll find anything that will effectively brighten beyond the stock HID's without blinding oncoming traffic.

I know how you feel.....I have PIAA driving lights in a custom cut Costal Metals grill. The bulbs are silverstars, but the lenses are pretty beat up on the piaa's so they look like regular halogens. I am ordering the new housings from piaa for $60.

I like your setup. What website did you get that grill from? It looks really good... will the holes for your foglight only fit the specific PIAA one you bought? Or are there different foglights that are that same size?

Also how do the lights help you during inclement weather driving and night driving?

JDM....the grills are from http://www.hondas2000accessories.com/prod01.htm

I bought the setup from tenblade, and he got it from hyperPM. This set up is like the S2KI foglight whore. Passed around all over the US. The grill was cut out by hyperPM to fit the lights. Normally, it is just a solid grill.

it does help in bad weather. The driving lights actually light up the road directly infront of the car. I will see if I have some pics of the beam pattern....

Oh, I was hoping that the grille would be pre-cut somewhere for the fog lights. I found that website you linked me, through google searching earlier, and it seems they only have the straight up grille without holes made for the fogs

After looking at your pictures some more, it seems that they are just mounted to the bumper and sticking through the grille, where I originally thought they were mounted to the grille itself... do you just have it double sided taped into the numper?
