Science of Speed stage 2 and they are installing it. I dont live in Phoenix but bought the car there and figured do it now before I drive it home to Spokane in the Spring. Berk HFC with stock exhaust and will keep all else stock for as long as i own it. I am open to any advice as I am new to the S2000. Have not even driven one yet.

Hondata reflash for my 2007, with Tanabe Exhaust and HFC, not a huge difference, seems a little more low end torque and VTECH comes in earlier....I'll do a remote tune sometime in the future.

Tanabe Medalion Touring exhaust. Very quiet with a low tone even on the freeway. Installed it about 10 months ago, seems to be a popular choice for the s2000. As I saw earlier in this thread ahobie17 installed the same set

here's a good link of what is sounds like: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/s2000-mo...haust-1187772/

Just put that on my car......sounds deeper and no rasp...sounds good when hard on the throttle. It has a low fequency to it, which is a little rough on my ears, but probably more an old age thing. I'll be adding sound deadening to knock it back a bit. At a constant throttle is when you can hear the deep tone. At a steady throttle it's quiet, just under load it's a little deep for my taste. For most it's probably wouldn't bother them. It's a quality system which fits very well.

I was also correct that you dont have to display the front plate anymore with the collector plate.

Any other benefits? Insurance I guess goes down. I do see you are not supposed to drive appart from going to and from shows though...

"Minnesota does not have a mileage restriction for collector class vehicles. Collector vehicles are to be operated only as a “Collector’s Item” and may not be used for general transportation. Generally driving to and from collector events (shows, parades) is acceptable. Check with local Law Enforcement for more specific issues"
I talked to the people working at the License Center since the language of the law is a bit vague. They mentioned that driving for enjoyment of the vehicle is the purpose of colllector plates... cruises for enjoyment, car shows and that type of thing. I mentioned track days and they had no objections there since that does not fall into the general transportation category either. Driving to and from from work (or other routine daily use) is not allowed. That being said, I see a beautiful 60s Mustang with collector plates all the time during nice weather at work so the collector plate police don't seem to have strict enforcement.

The big benefit of collector plates is never having to pay for yearly registration. I paid $55.75 for the plates and owe nothing more for registration as long as I own the car. You bring up a good point with insurance though and I should talk to my agent, I bet there are additional savings there.

I think the Collector plates also show that the car is something special. Some people like that and some people don't want the extra attention. I think it is definitely one of those things where it might makes sense or it might not depending on the situation.

I do not need to have a front plate now but the people who put on the front plate thought two holes in the bumper was not enough and made two more for good measure. I would like to not run a front plate but dealing with 4 holes to do so requires some work on my part.

I was a bit hesitant with the restrictions of collector plates but the more I thought about it the more it made sense for my situation. My commute to work is about 5 minutes and due to my parking situation at home getting the S2000 out of the garage usually requires shuffling vehicles around which is not worth it for a 5 minute drive IMHO, The S2000 is my toy and I have a Jeep Liberty for my daily driver. I know which one I would rather drive (S2000 of course!) but practically wins a lot of the time especially for hauling around my dogs. At least the Liberty has a manual transmission which makes it at least somewhat engaging to drive even if it is really slow with its 4 cylinder engine.

Swapped out my Invidia N1 dual for a Greddy Revolution single last night! Today was all about the drive and enjoying the new (amazing) sound, plus the first of many stickers.

Cut away the upper corners of the front bash bar for the ap1 to ap2 bumper conversion. Prepped and painted the corners with color match metallic silver to prevent it from rusting.
Had to shuffle around the intercooler pipeing to fit the bumper without having to modify it, just barely cleared the fake air ducts. I think I'll have to get a custom fabricated front mount and piping soon.
Also purchased the grill for an ap2 brand new and quickly realized there is simply no space for it with the intercooler, so I'll be selling that.
More parts from Honda:
The windshield wiper fluid nozzles painted in beautiful oem white (color I intend the car to be when painted) and affiliated hoses and connectors as I purchased the vehicle with a fiberglass hood and did not have the hardware.
The rear bumper had some sagging from old plastic brackets which have been replaced and the body gaps are much tighter from it. Realized that the ap1 bumpers bottom mounting brackets are much shorter than ap2's and need yet to find a way to secure those points.
Oem radiator and thermostat replacement with a coolant flush.
Replaced passenger door lock clip
Replaced the orange indicator lights with clear ones
pictures coming soon.

Default Dyno

Technically not today, but I got a dyno test yesterday. 201whp to the ground and a healthy dose of imaginary torque.
