Finally dealt with my hazy sad, oxidized headlights. Used the Cerakote Headlight Restoration kit that I got on Amazon. Was a bit sceptical. I hafta say...wow! Wow! Wow!. My 22 year old headlights look brand new. Super easy job, super impressed.

I'd be interested in your experience on how long the lenses stay clear. I'd try this treatment on my son's CR-V, and it lasts about a year or two, then starts getting hazy again.

That 2014 CR-V has to have the worst covers for getting mucked up. My 2007 Element has never had to be cleared.

Thanks!

I also used the Cerakote kit on my S and they came out great!

I did mine in the spring and they still look great, not sure how long it's supposed to last but obviously will
not last as long on a vehicle driven year round especially if you live in an area that has snow/salt/sand to deal with.

Default Got pulled over

I got pulled over today in my s2000. I was going the speed limit and everything and the cop decided to pull me over for tint. Hope no one else has this happen to them.

Did he give you a "fix-it" ticket?

Thanks!

Yeah, it’s not entirely my fault. The previous owner had 3 percent tint on there and I was just kinda rolling with it. So now it’s time to rip it off and fish bowl for a while.

The Cerakote kit is great IF THE CAR IS PARKED INSIDE. I did it on my beater Nissan that is outside 24/7 and on my garage parked S2K around the same time about 18 months ago, The Honda's still look absolutely mint, the Nissan lasted about a year. All of these headlight restoration kits are more or less the same and the single part wipe on clear coats just don't hold up to UV but will likely last years if not constantly in the sun. To do it right, I think the move would be to use the kit then clear PPF over the restored lens.

Ha! I got pulled over last night as well, "unsafe lane change". Cop said I clipped the solid white when merging onto the highway at rush hour and signaled within 100 ft of lane change.

Last Sat night, I went to pick up some take-out pizza.

During the drive there, I noticed my clutch pedal was sounding a bit bouncier and the “thunk” was louder, whenever I released the clutch pedal quickly.

I instantly thought to myself, “uh oh, that could be the plastic-stopper having finally broken off.”

When I got to the pizza shop and parked, I immediately shined my iphone-light to the area below the pedals on the floor-mat. And lo-and-behold, I was right - a broken off plastic-stopper was chillin right there on the floor-mat.

I was thinking, “dang, I hope I’m not stranded & need a tow-truck,” or try to find a way/paperclip to jump the car, or push-start the car.

Right after I saw the plastic stopper, I quickly tested starting the car and it still started! Whew! That saved me a big hassle and I can still make it home!

So, the broken stopper was just for the cruise-control-shutoff- switch.

Knowing that my plastic-stoppers were finally failing (135k mile Ap1, always garaged), the next day I bypassed the clutch-start-switch w/ a paperclip, before that plastic-stopper would break off someday and leave me stranded somewhere.

Simply used a paperclip, zip tie (to keep the paperclip from falling off). There was also an empty slot in the fuse/relay-box where the bypassed-plug nicely fit into and tucked inside.
(the blue wire pictured was my first attempt; but, the wires doesn't fit into the female-pins/plug).

This is only temporary.

Of course, I’ll order the 3-pack of plastic-stoppers (esp. needed for the brake pedal too; as when that breaks off it’ll leave the brake-lights always On).

I know the clutch-bypass-switch stopper is a PIA to get to. So, I’m most likely gonna procrastinate on installing that one for prolly years, lol.

At least the other 2 are super easy to install (CC-shutoff and brake-pedal).
