Default What to do after purchase of a used S2K

Hello, a long time enthusiast, finally get to pick up my very own s2k AP1 (2003) in a week and a half, after drooling about that car for a year after I found out about it.

I have a question regarding how I should "refresh" the car, if you know what I mean, like replacing all the fluids (maybe except windshield wiper fluid), but any other things I should do after purchase? and how often?

I remember seeing an FAQ page before, but I can't find it... can anyone help me?

Congrats--I just picked up a 2002 about a week ago myself.

What I did so far:
  1. Oil change (made car feel 10x better, literally) --> 10w30
  2. Trans fluid change (same thing) --> Honda MTF
  3. Diff fluid change --> Amsoil 75w110
  4. Air intake filter replacement
  5. Cabin air filter replacement

What I have planned (in order of importance for me):
  1. Valve adjustment (!)
  2. Brake fluid
  3. Clutch fluid
  4. Soft-top wear prevention "mods"
  5. Clean engine bay
  6. Grease stuff
  7. Wash and wax

I'm sure I missed some things, so search around or wait for the others.

P.S. This is important: Pay attention to your oil level. Check it every time you fill-up on gas. Learn how much you burn (if any). Carry some with you.

This is what i did
Replace the horrible stock shift knob with the cooler stock cr shift knob.
Oil change
I realized my second gear was popping out so tranny fluid fixed that
Cabin filter. Huge plus. That thing was filthy
Air filter

I went ape wild and then got the stock lip and wing
And fixed the soft top straps with modifrys solution.
Floor mats

Enjoy the ride!

To each his own I guess. I like the stock shift knob as well. I actually reverted back to it after buying an afterment one.

Cabin filter is a must~ along with the fluid changes.

I actually find the stock shift knob a little awkward to shift with~ I've had the CR knob on my previous S2000 and the shift feeling becomes much better imo.

This might be the FAQ you are looking for:

https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/775...-a-used-s2000/

Good information about what to look over when buying used as well as what to do after it is bought.

Congrats and good luck!
