Actually, Honda did a great job with this car, IMO. And the clutch is not "shitty", I have seen stock clutch hold up fairly well even after 40k miles, if you know how to drive/shift. And tranny, many people regard it as one of the best in the industry. Obviously, you bought the wrong car.
This thread sucks! But you sir need to post more often strickly because I like your avatar!

hmm dropping the clutch at 5-6k rpm is probably the worst thing you can do to your drivetrain. i don't know what tires you had, or what conditions you were in, but it sounds like you put the max amount of torque on your drivetrain without breaking the tires loose. if you do a search on launching the s2k, people will tell you to launch above 6 or 7k.

Why don't you respect the car for what it is. If you want to drop the clutch and go streight that go by a Mustang. This car was designed to corner and drive the twisties with not as a drag car.
alot of people on here has done high rpm lauches. the s2k is for the twisties only when something goes wrong.

Burn the car and start all over again with something else.

I got over 50,000 miles on my stock clutch at 300whp. Differential and transmission are doing just fine as well.

i don't mean to be rude, but you must think of where all of the power is being absorbed...did the tires spin at all or do you launch and have the diff eat all the power? enough bad launches and your diff is ggood game'd. I picked the AP2 just because it has a bit stronger of a rear diff...not much, but a lil. you can break the most reliable car in the world if you don't know what your doing. I research everything before i jump right in no matter how trivial it sounds.

I cant believe no one else noticed what caused it.

You can clearly see from his avitar that his pimp ass rear wing created to much down force (even though he wasnt even moving) and the tires could not break free.

Its the pimplishous spoiler you have there. It needs a warning sticker that says will created tremendous down force even if your vehicle is not moving.

I will give you $2000 for the sweet ass thing. I need it for the front of my F150 4x4 so i can get my 1/4 mile et's in to the 9's

Don't really want to flame you, but maybe you should recheck the design of the car. I might be wrong, but I believe the "S"has most of the features of a road race car built for the street. Features such as an almost perfect weight distribution, a high reving engine with minimal low end torque, brakes and suspension designed to handle high speed cornering and a drive train that was not engineerd for drag racing, but more for cornering.

You can do what ever you want to with your car, but just because others on this site drop their clutch at high revs does not make this a drag car. Just my opinion, and after 30 plus years of road racing both professionally and for personal fun I think I know what I am talking about.

Sorry guys- I think maybe you guys have the wrong idea. I know that the car was meant to handle. It does a SUPER job of that. But all I was doing was the occasional line up with some dude next to you at a street light thing. I'm not dragging the car at all.
After my "malfunction" witht he vehicle i came to this forum and did a rear differential search... I came up with many peolpe saying how the differential had many problems with many different people under many differnt circumstances. through that I read that the clutches are also wearing quickly wether the car was beat up in some cases or not.
Don't get me wrong guys the only thing I drive is Hondas. I own 3 right now. All the 2 seaters=) The "sol" "crx" and of course the "s"
It was just my assumption that maybe the clutch/diff/whatever just maybe weren't made with that good of quality. As I was reading on some posts on here. I So I also read that Honda would not cover any of the differential problems under warrent which it sounds like many people are upset about! I just was wondering if anyone had these problems could offer some suggestions on what they did or are looking into doing. Simple to major upgrages.
Thanks again guys for all your thoughts!
