What do I do now?
I just bought my 2002 S2000 and love it. I have a bunch of questions, and wanted some of your opinions. I'm using Zymol wash and wax, Porsche convertable top cleaner and protectant. For the inside, I'm using Lexol leather cleaner and conditioner. I'm planning to use Mobile 1 synthetic oil, with Honda oil filters after 7500 miles. Wondering if I should get a K/N air filter. Most importantly, looking at the Python ESP 1000 or ESP 650 car alarm (Both was recommended to me by Franks of Berkeley).
Any comments or suggestions on what I'm doing or planning to do? I would really appreciate it. Thanks.
PS. Bought car at Honda of Pittsburg. They're Ggggggreat!

irunnsx:
1) Zaino, is, IMO, better than Zymol. It's also a bit more work.
2) Many people believe that the top needs no protectant. The top, BTW, is vinyl, not cloth. As such, I use Aerospace 303 (or Vinylex, which seems to be the exact same stuff) on the top, and I use 303/Vinylex on all plastics. I've heard bad things about the Porsche top protectant.
3) Lexol's great for leather.
4) Mobil 1 synth is great, but don't use it for the first 10,000 miles. Leave the stock oil in until at least 3,750, then do at least two changes with conventional oil.
5) Honda filters are good. I use the K&N, which is better.
6) An air filter is an air filter. You might gain 1/10 of an HP.
7) Many people in the bay area prefer Clifford alarms. If I didn't think alarms were pointless, I'd recommend Clifford, too.

Warren has done a pretty good job of answering your questions, so I'll tip my hat to him and say that I concur.
I also suggest you try doing a quick search on this board. Most, if not all, of your questions have been answered previously. I'm not bashing you, I'm just trying to help. You also might check out the FAQ section. Lots of good 411 for new owners and old owners alike.
Finally, congrat's on the purchase and welcome to the cult.

Thanks for your help. Any idea if the FAQs on this site will be updated? My initial search showed descrepancies, such as which top protectant to use, wax, etc. hence my post. Anyway...
