Default What to do if you think yoru dealer abused your car.

Something has been nagging me since I picked up my car a few weeks ago. While I was signing paperwork and all that for the car at my dealership, the sales manager stopped by the cubicle and told my salesman to give him the keys so he could fill it up; apparently they don't have premium on the lot. Anyhow, when I finally got to taking the car home I noticed that the hood was really hot, and that he apparently had to drive 4 miles to get gas.

I'm thinking he abused the hell out of it; is there any way to check?

As long as your cooling system is working, you'r not going to notice any heat difference between a ragged car and a non-ragged car after only 4 miles and a hand on the hood.

I leave the car chip in mine that records speed, rpm, etc. every five seconds. Of course it will be removed for some service but most of the time it quietly records and I could print charts with exact time stamps if there was a need.

Have you ever "busted" someone with that data?

No, not really. I was able to see exactly what my son and brother have done during drives.. but they told me before I saw the data. I don't take the car to the dealer anymore except for things I can't do (alignment thus far).

my dealership guy gave me his gas card so I could fill it up myself, just to prevent something like that from happening
