What do people mean by "not enough torque"?

Acceleration is the rate of change of velocity, not momentum.

Drive a 5.7L Chevy and stomp the gas. The wrenching in your stomach is torque... lots of it. The S2000 doesn't have it. It gets by with silly high revs and strong high rpm horsepower.

The only difference is the constant mass. Therefore it would be correct to say that acceleration is proportional to the change in momentum, not is... no biggie.

Notice how acceleration levels off well before VTEC transision, then jumps back up with a steep slope on the hot cam.

Come on guys!

If you drive the car like it is meant to be driven then who cares what lack of low end torque the S has! If you wanted a car with low end torque because you can't be ars*d to change gear, buy an American muscle car.

Who cares if you have to knock it down a 2 or 3 gears to get to the power, just listen to the F20C chorus sing!

Just my 2 pence worth.

Lee.

Then there is the option of purchasing the 4.44 gears and taking advantage of all the torque available from the F20C.

Torque = seat of the pants feeling acceleration, thus American Muscle cars.
HP = Top end, what it takes to keep the mass moving!
