So what do you all think of the new shifter knob?
I'm thinking this is one change they should not have made!

DouglaS2000- Thanks for the great pics!

I disagree. I know the new knob is not as cool looking but I hope to find it more functional. I've just been waiting for a part no., so I can order one. I find the current one way to slippery to suit me and I'm not to hep on trying after-market ones based on what I've heard (i.e., the non-metal knobs). Not to mention the hot/cold issues.

dlq04-
Nice ride! And I mean the red one!!!
My Dad has a '57 MGA he bought new. It is a soft white with red leather interior and black wool carpets. Fully restored, blueprinted engine with a Judson Supercharger.
I blame my Daddy for my addiction to the S2000!

I always wished I had a dad like that! Most folks could never get the Judson to live up to the expectation (even today, I know several really good mechanics who eventually removed them). Sounds like it worked better for your dad. Glad to see you are carrying on the tradition.

PS- I picked this one up for $200 almost thirty years ago. It's like an old friend now. Bored 40 over, rally cam, with MkII 1622 engine (biggest MGA made). We both have a lot of miles on us!

Oh- thanks for the big pic post!!!
I placed my order for the 2002 S2000 yesterday, Spa Yel w/ Hardtop!
This is the first time I have seen an A next to the S2000. I'm in shock at the length difference; the S2000 looks huge next to the A.
You must live in a strange state of hell, trying to decide which one to drive, I don't think I could handle the confusion.

ps- congrats on the '02 Yellow. These car's (I find anyway) are cop magnets (couldn't be the driving), and with yellow you really stand out (that's why Porsche went to yellow for high speed driving on the Autobon in Germany).

Well, getting back on topic, I really don't like the new shifter knob. It looks like all they did was wrap some electrical tape around it. The look of the old shifter knob is much cleaner, and I don't find it slippery at all.
