Its just funny to read some of the comments. It has more cupholders etc. Its cool though one of them even admits the s2k is faster.

S2k > Z4

 

Reading that forum makes me grateful for our layout. I can't stand the threads like that.

 

Yeh Temple of VTEC also isn't a good layout. YOu have to click click click to read each post! takes forever!

 

God what a horrible format, some of the posts only show up as titles when you click them too. But I think that group is pretty level-headed for the most part, which is a lot more than you get from some other owners groups...

 

That was painful to read. What were they thinking when they dev. that layout. First time I/ve read a thread like that.

Comparing the Z4 to the S2k isn't a comparo at all in my mind. The Z4 body style was taken from the S2k and its uniqueness in the market at that time as the only roadster that didn't look anywhere close to a miata's symetrical body design. Now the Z4 isn't a bad looking car, but its funny how the elogated nose, and shortened backend reminds me so much of the S2k. Flattery is the highest form of compliment and the Z4 isn't the first car to take a page from the S2k (funny how the RX8 has a high redline like the S2k and how the front end looks very similar to an S2k). Side by side the S2K makes the Z4 look like trash if you ask me, and when it comes to speed and handling well we know the S2k wins there. The interior of the Z4 I looked at isn't layed out well at all IMHO and when it comes to value...well the S2k is the hands down winner....I saw a thread on that link that said the 03 S2ks were discounted to $27K...the Z4 crowd was likely knocking the S2k for this (I didn't feel like registering for that terrible board) which would just show their ignorance...

Lets think about this...$27k for an 03 S2k;

thats a hell of a deal for a car thats overall better then the Z4; and heres the proof:


S2k is faster than the overpriced Z4
S2k handles the twisties better than the Z4
S2k has won multiple awards over the Z4 (same category of car yet I've never seen the Z4 in C&Ds 10 best)
S2k is still to this day a modern marvel of engineering (how Honda got all those horsies out of th F20 on the 00-03 S2k is still beyond me)
S2k has lasting classic appeal that has been talking about by numerous experts
This is proof that the Z4 is overpriced if the S2k is a much better value than the Z4 and is lowered priced than it is,

For my money that S2k at $27k is a deal to jump all over...who honestly cares what Z4 owners think about the S2k? They'll be viewing it from the rearview mirror anyway!!!

Oh one thing I do like about the Z4 over the Z3 is that it doesn't look like the Penis car from the ambiguously gay duo....everytime I see a guy in one of those Z3s it has a freakin rainbow sticker on it...

Yeh agreed s2k looks better than the Z4 def.

 

If I were going to buy a BMW, it certainly would NOT be a Z4.
