So I guess, if yes, then I guess the only thing would to bring it to Honda and do a diagnostic on it.

personally i think it's a useless light. it just reminds you of doing fluid changes. as long as you keep track of that stuff then just reset it and be on your way.

Are you sure, because any other time I have had a service engine soon light come on, you had to get the codes for it to find out what the issue is. Example O2 sensors, etc. Is this light strictly to remind us when to bring it in for servicing. If so, how do you reset it.

This is why I asked is this the same light as a service engine soon light. Or do we have both.

There is a check engine light (lighted up yellow engine) and maintenance light (lighted up orange Maint' Req word). Check engine light is where you have to take it to auto store or dealership to get it diagnosed for problem. Maintenance required light just lets you know that you need to get an oil change or get it serviced.

maintenance required light turns on automatically every ~6000 miles to remind you to change oil. you can look up the procedure for turning it off in your owner's manual.

I don't think he has a manual.

Hold trip odometer reset button.
Keep holding button.
Put key in ignition.
Turn key to "on"
Wait 20 seconds.
Let go of button.
You don't actually have to start your car, just turn it on.

maint req'd light tells you when the ECU thinks you need to change your oil. It doesn't mean anything but this. Engine oil change only. If it wasn't reset after your last oil change, ignore it.
