Maint Req'd Light Blinking At 24,500mi?
I bought my S2000 with 18,500mi on the odometer, so I've never seen this light before. As I was driving on the freeway, "Maint Req'd" turned on for a few seconds, then turned off. Now, everytime I start the car, it flashes for a few seconds. I read that this light is a reminder for servicing at certain intervals, I believe every 7500 miles. Seeing that 24,500mi is in between intervals (22,500mi and 30,000mi), why would it be flashing now? Is it possible that the dealership serviced the car right before I bought it (@ 18,500mi) and resetted the light? If this is the case, the Maint Req'd light begins to flash 7500mi from when it was last resetted right? That's the only explanation I can think of. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

It means that you're 6000 miles past your last service. I had the same thing happen recently. Its completely normal and is just the car's warning that its about time for another service appt.
